13 February 2011

HAMPTON--Dressed in her polka dot swim suit little Kennedy has waited all week for a day at the pool.  But before she can let loose students at Hampton University show her a few skills.Skills that could safe her life.  It doesnt take long before Kennedy and Zachary are ready to use what they've learned,  to swim and play safe.  As a tangible reminder of safety, aquitics director Jodi Jenson handed parents water watcher safety tags.

The CDC reports drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional deaths in children between the ages of 1 and 14.  And thats why Jensen and her students dedicate their saturday morning to educating the community on water safety. "I believe 90% of drownings are preventable," she said. Don’t wait until it’s too late, find out more about water safety children .
